Big migration day

Went to to Sde Boker today to participate in filming a clip on IOC's activities for the festival. Weather was better today after heavy rain and floods in the desert yesterday. Along the way had several thousands of White Storks taking off. Many stayed behind because as a result of yesterdays' rain there was a huge emergence of termites and ant princes. The storks and also many Lesser Kestrels, swifts and dragonflies were gorging themselves on them.



Several large flocks of Eurasian Cranes were on the move too today:


Few migrant passerines at Sde Boker. Breeding birds were very happy with all the food around, including a nice pair of Desert Finch:
